In my last post, I wrote about curiosity.
About what happens when we give ourselves permission to explore who we are.
But I’ve realized curiosity asks something else of us, too.
It asks us to question what we believe.
I recently watched a video that challenged me to ask: Where did this belief come from?
Is it mine?
Or was it passed down through family?
Society?
Religion?
Tradition?
Fear of what other people might think?
And maybe the more important question is this:
Does this still align with who I am and who I want to be?
There is something beautiful about being in my 40s.
I simply don’t care enough anymore.
Not in a careless way.
I’ve just done enough healing, had enough deep conversations, and connected with enough people to realize that most of us are carrying some version of the same fear.
What will people think?
And I’m not willing to let that question make my decisions for me anymore.
The more I challenge what I’ve always believed, the more I trust myself.
The more I trust myself, the more confidently I show up.
And the more aligned I become with who I actually am.
Fashion is simply one expression of that.
Some days I’m in heels and a blazer.
Other days I’m in cowboy boots.
A dress. A baseball cap. An oversized sweatshirt.
They’re not different versions of me.
They’re all expressions of me.
All completely aligned with who I am that day and how I want to show up in the world.
So yes, the outfit is pretty.
But the woman wearing it is the story.
Because the best thing I’ve ever worn is the confidence to become more of myself. 🌼
A few pieces from my story 🌼
If something I wear catches your eye, I’ll share the pieces I genuinely love and wear here.
